Facial Rejuvenation

Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) provide a natural, safe, effective and drug-free approach to reducing the signs of aging. The ancient technique of facial rejuvenation improves muscle tone of the face and neck and addresses factors that may have led to visible aging.

Why does skin sag?

According to TCM, wrinkles start internally due to imbalances in the constitution and weaknesses of Qi (pronounced “chee”). Qi navigates the body through a series of pathways called meridians. Flowing through these pathways, Qi nourishes, supports and provides energy to all cells, tissues, muscles and organs.

As we age, it becomes more difficult for Qi to flow up and “lift” the face. This leads to poor muscle tone, and eventually sagging skin and wrinkles. A variety of factors contribute to this, such as poor diet, digestion or circulation issues and environmental or emotional stresses.

Give your skin a lift with an EMBODIMENT ACUPUNCTURE TREATMENT

Facial rejuvenation using acupuncture tightens pores and improves muscle tone and dermal contraction while improving the skin’s elasticity. Acupuncture can strengthen and stimulate Qi circulation in the meridians which can reduce signs of aging, especially in the face. You will look and feel more vibrant, calm, energetic and healthy through an Embodiment Treatment at TOTEM Acupuncture!

Acupuncture treatments may be applied in tandem with herbal supplements, acupressure and exercise to maximize benefits.

Facial rejuvenation through acupuncture and TCM is a virtually painless, non-surgical method to fight signs of aging. Consider acupuncture before using drugs or surgery because it is a safe, effective, natural, drug free and painless method. It helps your whole body feel and look younger.

Self-care techniques:

1) Herbal Poultice: Clean face well. Make a poultice mixture using equal parts of ground organic almonds, rose and lavender flowers, ground oats and flax seeds. Add French clay and water and mix into a thick paste. Apply to the face, avoiding the eyes, and let dry. After 15-20 minutes, wash off.

2) Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of fresh filtered or spring water. This keeps the skin and muscles hydrated which prevents drying.

3) Massage the face gently.

4) Take a walk for at least 20 minutes each day and breathe deeply. .
